OFFICER WILLIAMS NEEDS OUR HELP
We recived the message, below, from Officer Williams regarding the recent criminal mischief and graffiti. She is asking us to provide her with more information, so please contact her directly at dialb@garlandtx.gov if you can help.

"Thank you for keeping me updated with the criminal mischiefs and graffiti going on in your neighborhood. I have two suspects on the graffiti and have reported both locations to the City for clean-up. Regarding the criminal mischiefs, I’ve been frequenting the area more along with other patrol officers and even worked Saturday night until 3 am to try to catch the juveniles responsible. What I need from the neighborhood though is if anyone on any of the streets in your neighborhood have surveillance cameras and could send me video footage from the nights of the incidents (4/25, 4/26, and 4/29) to review. I have information on the suspect vehicle, received from surveillance cameras in another neighborhood with the same criminal mischiefs. I would greatly appreciate any assistance with disseminating this request and my contact information. Thank you very much."

CRIME ALERT
There has been a rash of criminal mischief in the neighborhood, specifically targeting vehicles parked overnight - on the street and in driveways - by smashing their windows.

If you must leave your car out at night, it is very important NOT to leave personal items inside it. This includes laptops, handbags or briefcases, and electronic devices. Remember ... a garage door opener is like a key to your house. Remove all of these items from your vehicle at night to keep your home from becoming a target for a break-in.

We have asked the police to step up patrols. If you see anything suspicious, call 911. The Crime Watch page provides instructions on what to do when there's an incident.

CRIME ALERT
Be on the lookout for a gold-ish colored 2 door coupe and call police if you see it or anything suspicious.
This evening a resident on the east side of Grasemere returned home to find a car parked behind his house in the alley and a young Hispanic male in his backyard (about 5'10" with shaved head and numerous tattoo's on his arms & neck) who said he was looking for his dog. A young Hispanic female was in the car.

After the young man said he was looking for his pit bull and thought it went into the neighbor's yard, he jumped into the car and sped away downt the alley. The neighbor went back outside 10 munites later and the car was still in the alley, about 4 houses down, and then sped away.

The neighbor mentioned that the lock on his gate, which was not locked when he arrived home, had apparently been removed by the young man, as he could not locate it anywhere.

Today a suspicious car was seen twice in our neighborhood. The car was a gold 4-door Mercedes with license plate LWX956. It was first seen in the 2700 block
of Grasmere parked in front of a home. The homeowner stopped and asked what they were doing and when she was not satisfied with their response she called the police. The car was spotted again later a few blocks away and the police were called again. If you see this vehicle in Meadow Crest call the police. They appear to have no connection to Meadow Crest.

Also, this is a reminder that just because school is out,
the City of Garland curfew for kids and teenagers has not changed. The curfew says that anyone under the age of
17 is not allowed out (without a parent or guardian) after 10:00 PM Sun-Thurs and after 12:00 AM on Friday & Saturday. He encouraged calling the police if you see kids out in the neighborhood after curfew, as they might be looking for trouble.
